RPTRAs and Parks in Central Jakarta Closed on New Year's Holiday

Total 154 public open spaces in Central Jakarta, consisting of 104 green open spaces/parks (RTH) and 50 Child-friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA) are closed from Friday (12/31) to Saturday (1/1). Those public open spaces will be reopened on Sunday (1/2) by implementing strict health protocols.
Personnel will patrol to prevent people activities in RTH
Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency Head, Mila Ananda mentioned, the closure was carried out to prevent crowds in RTH.
"Before the pandemic, people usually celebrated new year's eve in RTH. But since it is still in pandemic situation, personnel will patrol to prevent people activities in RTH," she explained, Friday (12/31).
No New Year's Eve Celebration in AncolOn the other hand, Central Jakarta Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) Sub-agency's Community Empowerment Section Head, Bangun Manalu stated, RPTRAs were also closed on new year holiday, from Friday (12/31) to Saturday (1/1). During closure, RPTRA administrators are still on duty as usual to carry out maintenance and secure the facilities.
"There are 50 RPTRAs in Central Jakarta and we close them during new year holiday. We make sure there are no activities during the closure. It is carried out to prevent crowds," he said.
He added that RPTRAs will return to operate on Sunday (1/2) by implementing strict health protocols.
