Traffic Engineering will Be Applied Due to Monitoring Tool Installation for MRT Tunnel Construction

PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) will install monitoring tool for the construction of MRT Jakarta Tunnel Phase 2A Contract Package 201 (CP201). During the installation, traffic engineering will be applied on January 3-16 and February 28-May 1, 2022.

Currently, the drilling machine is being assembled at drilling site in preparation for launch

PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Corporate Secretary Division Head, Rendi Alhial mentioned, the monitoring tool will be installed to monitor behavior of ground surface, manage and mitigate the risk of soil movement/subsidence during tunnel drilling thus construction work can proceed safely.  

Instruments for monitoring work will be planted under Jalan MH Thamrin along CP201 tunnel rute, in several points from Bundaran HI to Harmony which will not interfere with the comfort and safety of road users.

"This installation is a part of PT. MRT Jakarta's commitment to implement and prioritize aspects of safety, health, environment, and security or SHES in accordance with standards and provisions that apply during construction work," he said on Monday (1/3).

Here is information regarding traffic engineering that will be applied:

A. Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (BHI) work area on January 3 - March 13, 2022

Monitoring instrument installation in each locations requires occupancy period of approximately one week by reducing one lane of mix traffic on the East side (Blok M direction) and West side (Kota direction).

B. Southern side of Thamrin Station work area on March 28 - April 3, 2022

Monitoring instrument installation in each locations requires occupancy period of approximately one week by reducing one regular vehicle lane on the West side (Kota direction) in front of BPPT Building.

C. Northern side of Thamrin Station work area on April 4 - May 1, 2022

Monitoring instrument installation in each locations requires occupancy period of approximately one week by reducing one regular vehicle lane on the South side of Thamrin Fountain Roundabout.

"The first tunnel boring machine for Phase 2A MRT Jakarta has been arrived at the end of November 2021. TBM-1 will drill from Bundaran HI Station to Harmoni Station. Currently, the drilling machine is being assembled at drilling site in preparation for launch and is ready to be used this month," he explained.
