Throughout 2021, 1,511 Fires Hit East Jakarta

The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency says as many as 1,511 fire cases occurred in East Jakarta throughout 2021. It mostly triggered by a gas stove that is lit and forgot to turn it off.

In total, the material losses are reaching Rp 309,49 billion in 2021

East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency Head, Gatot Sulaeman disclosed, in period of January to December 2021, fire caused by gas stove explosion reached 962 cases, LPG gas cylinder leak 137 cases, lamp 3 cases, electricity short-circuit 86 cases, cigarette 30 cases and 293 other cases.

"Compared to 2020, the number of fire cases has increased. In 2020, there were 349 cases," he said, Wednesday (1/5).

204 Fire Cases Hit Central Jakarta along January to December 2021

He added, burning objects were dominated by house buildings 519 units, public and commercial buildings 247 units, industry buildings 16 units, vehicles 102 units, garbage 431 units, outdoor installations 42 units, stalls 18 units, plants 89 units and 47 other units.

"In total, the material losses are reaching Rp 309,49 billion in 2021. Then in 2020, the loss reached Rp 76.1 billion," he stated.
