204 Fire Cases Hit Central Jakarta along January to December 2021

The Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency has noted that as many as 204 fire cases in Central Jakarta along January to December 2021.

Residents who lost their homes are 488 families or 1,695 people

Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency Head, Asril Rizal said, fire was mostly dominated by electricity short-circuit (132 cases), followed by LPG gas leak (24 cases) and others (48 cases).

He furthered, fire had destroyed 74 house buildings, 17 public buildings, five vehicles, 49 outdoor installations, and 59 others objects. In total, the material losses are reaching Rp 39.872 billion with a burnt area of 617,693 square meters.

January-October, 176 Fire Cases Occurred in Central Jakarta

"Residents who lost their homes are 488 families or 1,695 people," he expressed, Monday (12/27).

Based on the time of occurrence per month, there were 13 fire cases in January, 16 were in March, 11 were in April, 20 were in May, 15 were in June, 17 were in July, 21 were in August, 18 were in September, 30 were in October, 15 were in November, and 13 were in December.

"Last year, there were 160 cases in Central Jakarta along January to December. Seeing this, we urge people to be more vigilant," he stressed.
