Jakarta's Latest Official COVID-19 Figures as of January 21

The Jakarta COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force announces the latest information of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as of January 21.

It should be underlined that 4,633 people from the number of 71.5% active cases are foreign travelers

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, the number of active cases in Jakarta today increased by 834 cases, bringing the number of active cases to 6,476 (people who are still being treated/isolated).

"It should be underlined that 4,633 people from the number of 71.5% active cases are foreign travelers. As for new positive cases based on the results of the PCR test today increased by 1,484 people, bringing a total of 875,743 cases, of which 1,253 (84.4%) were also local transmission," she explained, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Friday (1/21).

"This target has been surpassed by Jakarta for some time. The number of people tested last week has reached 120,592, while 761,243 people have undergone the PCR tests," she added.

Of these cases, 855,676 people were cured with a cure rate of 97.7% and 13,591 people died with a world with a death rate of 1.6%, while Indonesia's death rate was 3.4%. The positivity rate in the last week in Jakarta was 5.1%, while Indonesia was 10.8%. WHO also set a standard percentage of positive cases of no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination process is still ongoing. The total vaccination dose 1 was currently 12,092,990 people (119.9%), with a proportion of 71% being residents of Jakarta and 29% were non-residents of Jakarta. Then the number of people being vaccinated in a 1-day dose as many as 7,561 people. The total vaccination dose 2 now reached 9,664,524 people (94.8%), with a proportion of 72% being residents of Jakarta and 28% were non-residents of Jakarta. The number of people being vaccinated in the 2-day dose as many as 53,295 people.

As for the third dose (booster) vaccination was also carried out. The update total third dose was 255,868 people and the number of people who get vaccinated with the 3-day dose was 39,142 people.
