Latest Data on COVID-19 Cases and Vaccination in Jakarta as of January 25, 2022

The Jakarta Government continues to control the COVID-19 pandemic, which recently has seen a significant increase in the number of cases.

It should be underlined that 10,299 people from active cases (84.4%) are local transmission, while the rest are foreign travelers

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia explained, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, the number of active cases in Jakarta today increased by 1,708 cases, thus total active cases as of today reached 12,196 cases (people who are still in treatment/isolation).

Vaccination Rate in Kalideres Reaches 82.45 Percent

"It should be underlined that 10,299 people from active cases (84.4%) are local transmission, while the rest are foreign travelers. The new positive cases based on PCR test results as of today increased by 2,190 people thus it reaches 883,490 cases in total, where 1,829 of them (83.5%) are from the local transmission," she said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, Tuesday (1/25).

Furthermore, she also urged residents to be aware of Omicron transmission which is increasing in Jakarta. As many as 1,166 of 1,697 infected people are from abroad, while the other 531 are cases from the local transmission.

Meanwhile, 3T is still intensified and COVID-19 vaccination is also ongoing with a wider scope.

Data from Jakarta Health Agency mentioned that from a total of 18,868 PCR specimens, 19,533 people had been tested today to diagnose new cases which resulted in 2,190 positive and 17,343 negative cases.

Antigen test was also carried out today on 48,062 people with 1,523 positive and 46,539 negative results. Please note that positive antigen results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all of them were reconfirmed by PCR.

On the other hand, the WHO test targets 1,000 people using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week.

"This target has been exceeded by Jakarta for some time. In the past week, 137,345 people were tested using PCR. While the number of people tested for PCR in Jakarta has now reached 768,654 per million population," she added.

From total positive cases, 857,688 people recovered with a recovery rate of 97.1% and 13,606 people died with a mortality rate of 1.5%. While the mortality rate in Indonesia reached 3.4%.

The positivity rate in Jakarta in the past week reached 8.3%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 10.8%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage should be no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination program is continued. First dose vaccines had been given to 12,107,819 people (120.1%) with a proportion of 71% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 29% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. From that amount, 6,444 people had been injected with first dose vaccines today.

The second dose vaccines had been given to 9,754,957 people (96.7%) with a proportion of 72% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 28% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. From that amount, 45,426 people had been injected with second dose vaccines today.

The third dose (booster) vaccine had been given to 357,453 people as of today. Of that amount, 44,071 people had been injected with third dose vaccines today.

Jakarta Satpol PP also gives sanctions for anyone who doesn't wear a mask and violate health protocols and intensifies guest book data collection, as well as other forms of PPKM violations, such as in restaurants, business places, and industrial places. The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license.

Based on the daily report submitted by Jakarta Satpol PP on January 24, 2022, Satpol PP had conducted a mask operation and collected Rp 2,300,000 in fine, and temporarily closed 2 business places. Hopefully, all residents can be more disciplined and participated in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

Jakarta Government advised people who want to be vaccinated to go directly to the vaccination site. In a faster way, people can register online through the JAKI app or corona.Jakarta.go.id/vaksinasi. By registering online, people can choose the time and place of vaccination, as well as to conduct online health pre-screening tests.

Vaccination sites can be checked through the google maps app. Only by writing 'vaksin COVID-19', people can get information about vaccination site locations and how to get there.

Jakarta Provincial Government is still opening opportunities for residents who want to assist the others affected by COVID-19 through the Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) Program.
