Infiltration Wells in Cilangkap are in Trial

The 18-meter-deep infiltration well, which is built on Jalan Giri Kenyan, RT 06/02, Cilangkap, East Jakarta is under a trial stage led by Cilangkap Urban Village Head, Nasir Sugiar, on Sunday (2/6).

There were also representatives of Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency, apparatuses of urban village and sub-district, caretakers of RT/RW, LMK, local public figures.

During the trial, the well was sprayed with water from a 5,000-liter-capacity tank. Within an hour, the 5,000 liters of water was completely absorbed into the ground through the well.

"It aims to ensure that the well is effective to overcome inundation," he stated.

He explained that there were 40 wells built in RW 02 area. Five of them were drilled to 18 meters deep. While the other 35 wells were drilled to three meters.

"This is also used for the stock of clean water reserves," he said.

LMK RW 02 Member, Come. Pol. Suharno, appreciated it. Of the five wells, two were in the front of RW 02 Secretariat and in the front of TK Giri Kencana, as well as on Jalan Giri Kenyan RT 06/02.

"Thanks to the Jakarta administration that has made these wells. Hope they are able to handle inundation and become a reservoir of clean water during the dry season. Thus residents do not lack clean water," he said.
