East Jakarta Distributes Aid to Families of Covid-19 Victims

The East Jakarta administration is rolling out new rounds of social aid in the form of Child and Adolescent Care Cards for children whose parents died due to Covid-19, on Wednesday (2/8). Each beneficiary will receive financial aid amounting to Rp 300,000 per month for a year.

Those Child and Youth Care cards were symbolically handed over by East Jakarta Administration and People's Welfare Assistant, Ahmad Salahudin, accompanied by East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Purwono, and Cakung Sub-district Head, Fajar Eko Satrio, to two children in the Cakung Sub-district office yard.
According to Salahudin, it is a form of the Jakarta administration's concern to lighten the burden on the victim's family. He said the money would be disbursed two weeks after the card was handed over.

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Purnowo explained as many as 919 children from ten sub-districts were recorded to receive the aid.
Of 919 children, 138 were from Cakung, 118 were from Duren Sawit, 107 were from Kramat Jati, 94 were from Ciracas, 94 were from Jatinegara, 84 were from Cipayung, 78 were from Pasar Rebo, 91 were from Pulo Gadung, 45 were from Makasar, and 70 were from Matraman.
"All cards are distributed today in each sub-district office," he concluded.
