The retractable roof, which is the icon of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) has begun to be installed. This roof makes JIS, the only one that uses a retractable roof in Indonesia.

Nadia Diposanjoyo, Corporate Secretary Division Head for Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) said the roof allows the stadium to be used in the rain or the heat of the day. Thus any event can run without weather constraints.

"The stadium has now entered the installation phase of a retractable roof," she expressed, Friday (2/18).

She explained the construction is not simple as the process is very complex. One of them is the lifting of a retractable roof which requires energy and is very risky considering that it needs to be lifted at the same time with a weight of 3,900 tons.

"It has also been recorded in the MURI record," she expressed.

As for the information, its construction has reached 96.97 percent until the 128th week or as of February 18, 2022. There is a positive deviation of 1.30 percent from the planned 95.67 percent.

That retractable roof is installed simultaneously with the installation of ETFE membranes, sky view decks, completion of precast stands, and installation of regular chairs

In addition, there are also ongoing projects, such as the completion of the concourse area, the seams on the facade, hardscape, and landscape segments on the west and east ramps, as well as groundwater tank (GWT) and MEP plant work.
