Kominfotik Holds Webinar Jakarta Digital Outlook 2022 Series 2

The Jakarta Smart City (JSC) held the Jakarta Digital Outlook 2022 Series 2 webinar with the theme 'Development of the Digital Economy towards Jakarta as a Center for Global-Scale Economy and Business'.

This is our challenge in facing the development of the digital economy

Jakarta Digital Outlook 2022 is a discussion space for stakeholders or co-creators that is done serially regarding the use of information technology and digital transformation to prepare Jakarta to become a global economic and business center after its role is no longer the nation's capital.

In the webinar, there were some speakers from experienced digital economic practitioners and actors in Indonesia.

Among them were Communication and Information Ministry General Secretary, Mira Tayyiba; Board of Advisor Halodoc, eFishey Commissioner, Aldi Haryopratomo; EVP Customer Experience & Digitalisation Deputy - Digital Business Office Chief, Sri Safitri; Investre Co-Founder & CEO, Adrian A. Gunadi; and Venture Partner East Ventures & Managing Partner Impactto, Italo Gani.

Kominfotik Agency Head, Atika Nur Rahmania said Jakarta nowadays is facing big challenges after the central government and the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) passed the National Capital Law (UU).

Even without its position, function, and role as the nation's capital, the Jakarta administration projects that Jakarta would continue to play a role as an economic and business center on a global scale while still having a special status in the future.

To reach it, the acceleration of digital transformation and the use of the latest information and communication technology is a necessity.

"Lots of homework for Jakarta on how to develop an ideal government service, improve access to public services and issues related to the development of Jakarta as a smart city," she explained, Friday (3/11).

She explained that making Jakarta a global economic and business center is not a simple matter. Jakarta as a global economic and business center has a complete superstructure as well as a very high-density infrastructure

Likewise with socio-economic interactions between residents who have a diversity of religions, cultures, ethnicities, and distinctive behaviors. By so, Jakarta must be able to recognize and accommodate the characteristics of a digital society.

"In building a digital economy, the administration needs collaboration with all parties to provide space and a new economy for Jakarta," she explained.

Jakarta, as the headquarters for hundreds of start-ups, decacorns, and unicorns, has the opportunity to optimize the potential of the digital economy and bring Jakarta on par with other developed cities in the world.

"This is our challenge in facing the development of the digital economy," she continued.

She added, together with several institutions, the administration is currently drafting and preparing a draft law regarding the specifics of Jakarta after it is not the capital city.

It was deemed an interesting momentum and it was hoped that through this series of Jakarta Digital Outlook 2022, Jakarta could discuss with experts, actors, and drivers of the digital economy in Indonesia. Thus, it was able to obtain input and views of professionals regarding the development of the digital economy in the context of the Specialty Draft Law for Jakarta

"It can realize Jakarta as a global economic and business center," she added.

Jakarta Smart City Head, Yudhistira Nugraha uttered that his party got a lot of valuable input regarding what Jakarta should do after not becoming the capital city and wanting to become a global economic and business center city.

He explained the materials, presentations, and recommendations presented by the speakers would be a reference and reference in the formulation of Jakarta in the future.

"The huge potential for digital economic growth in Indonesia is expected to provide views, analyzes, and solutions to answer various challenges of digital economic development in Jakarta," he closed.
