"Health socialization and education have been carried out door-to-door in Block A. We urge residents to close the door when the wind is strong, not to rub their eyes when they feel itchy, and wash their hands often," she mentioned, Wednesday (3/23).

"Thank God, there are no complaints related to acute respiratory infections or eye diseases due to the impact of coal dust. Instead, most of them complain of high blood pressure, blood sugar, heart disease, and cholesterol," she conveyed.
Pujiatiningsih (73), a resident who lives on the 4th floor of Block A Marunda Public Housing admitted that she had her health checked for heart disease, cholesterol, uric acid, and high blood pressure. She was grateful that free medical check-up service can be routinely accessed at RPTRA Gabus Pucung which is not far from where she lives.
"The effect of coal dust does hit the eyes, but it can be treated by eye drops. We also asked related parties to immediately address coal dust pollution in our area thus it doesn't have an impact on residents' health," she said.
For information, the Cilincing Sub-district Health Center intensively carried out free medical check-ups in areas affected by dust pollution from the coal processing industry at KBN Marunda. It was carried out to anticipate and prevent people to suffer from diseases caused by air pollution.
