36,727 Vehicles Ticketed in Zebra Operation

As many as 36,727 traffic violators were ticketed by Central Jakarta Resort Police Traffic Unit in the 2014 Zebra Operation which held since Wednesday (11/26) until Tuesday (12/9). Meanwhile, 5,617 violators were only warned.

Most ticketed vehicles were motorcycles, reaching 31,726 units, and followed by cars as many as 5,001 units

“Most ticketed vehicles were motorcycles, reaching 31,726 units, and followed by cars as many as 5,001 units,” stated Central Jakarta Resort Police Traffic Unit Chief AKBP Sakat, Tuesday (12/9).

Besides ticketing traffic violators, Sakat told that his ranks were also confiscating 13,421 driving licenses (SIM) and 23,306 vehicle registration certificates (STNK) as proofs.

City Police: 9 Died During Zebra Operation

“The highest traffic violation was contra-flow, reaching 10,023 violations,” he said.

Because of that Sakat urged motorists to be more orderly in traffic and obey the rules in the field.

“We recorded zero accident in Central Jakarta,” he informed.
