1,470 Trees Prone to Falling in Central Jakarta Pruned

The Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency has pruned 1,470 trees that are prone to falling from January to April 8, 2022 in 8 sub-districts.

Besides anticipating fallen trees and broken branches, it also makes the environment neater

Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency Head Menurutnya Ananda mentioned those lush trees were pruned because it was feared that they would easily fall when it rained with strong wind.

Of 1,470 trees, as many as 236 trees were lightly pruned, 878 trees were moderately pruned, 335 trees were heavily pruned and 21 trees were cut down.

"Besides anticipating fallen trees and broken branches, it also makes the environment neater," she said, Saturday (4/9).

According to her, it was also done to follow up on residents' complaints and results of monitoring from personnel in the field.

"There were 23 fallen trees and 31 splintered trees during this quarter in Central Jakarta. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident," she explained.

So, residents are urged immediately report if they see lush trees that need pruning or trees prone to falling.
