Djarot: City Officials Mindset Must Be Changed

Djarot Syaiful Hidayat, the Jakarta Vice Governor candidate, visited City Hall on Thursday (12/11) to meet Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama and City Secretary Saefullah. His visit was also aimed to gain more information about the existing problems in the capital.

Bureaucracy reshuffle is easy, but the most difficult is changing the mindset

At first, he met the governor. The meeting was held in about 30 minutes. Then he went to city secretary office on the 4th floor accompanied by one governor staff.

"I need to know much about this city before doing something," he said.

He also commented about Basuki's plan by doing a major change for the civil servant. He suggested that the most important is changing the civil servant's mindset.

"Bureaucracy reshuffle is easy, but the most difficult is changing the mindset," he added.

Nevertheless, he considered the employees in the city government are quite good for now. However, the employee is required to have a firm responsible in making decisions.

"It's pretty good, but he/she should be brave again, ready to be responsible, ready to take decision, and have a creativity," he disclosed.
