1,135 Liquor Bottles in East Jakarta Confiscated

Tens of joint personnel from Jakarta Satpol PP and TNI/Police carried out the Pekat Jumat operation from Friday (4/22) to Saturday (4/23) morning. As a result, 1,135 liquor bottles were confiscated because the sale was not according to regulations.

The operation is carried out simultaneously in Pasar Rebo, Jatinegara, Cakung, Matraman, Cipayung s ub-districts

East Jakarta Satpol PP Head Budhy Novian said the operation targeted people who need social welfare services (PPKS) to be fostered in social institutions thus they did not wander on the street.

"It is done simultaneously in Pasar Rebo, Jatinegara, Cakung, Matraman, Cipayung sub-districts," he said, Saturday (4/23).

188 Bottles of Liquor Seized from Three Sub-districts

His side had made a dossier (BAP) and was given a written warning to alcohol sellers who were found to have violated the regulations.

"This operation is carried out to follow up the mandate of Regional Regulation No. 8/2007 on Public Order," he explained.

According to him, those liquor bottles would be destroyed prior to Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

"We want East Jakarta to remain safe and conducive, especially during Ramadan," he asserted.

On the other hand, Pasar Rebo Sub-district Satpol PP Head Muhammad Syarif uttered that around 70 liquor bottles were also confiscated from some areas.

"Those areas are Jalan Raya Bogor, Jalan Kali Sari Lapan, and Jalan Gongseng Raya," he stated.
