80.054 Pemudik Berangkat dari Tujuh Terminal di Jakarta 2

80,054 Travelers Depart from 7 Terminals During Eid Homecoming Flow

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub)'s Road Transport Management Unit (UPTAJ) Head Syamsul Mirwan informed that as many as 80,054 homebound travelers had departed from seven terminals in Jakarta from April 25 to 30, 2022.

The highest number of passengers was departed from Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal and Kampung Rambutan Terminal

Those seven terminals were Kampung Rambutan, Kalideres, Pulo Gebang, Tanjung Priok, Lebak Bulus, Grogol, and Muara Angke.

Based on the latest data, the highest number of passengers was departed from Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal and Kampung Rambutan Terminal with an average of 4,000 passengers per day during the period.

PMI Personnel Alerted to Serve Travelers at Kalideres and Grogol Terminals

According to him, the number of passengers had started to increase from D-7 of Eid al-Fitr or April 25 in the seven terminals. While the peak of departure was on Friday (4/29).

"There is a spike in passengers after that, but only for passengers with a short-distance route, such as Sukabumi, Bandung, and Tasik. Most passengers with a long-distance route, such as Central Java and East Java, have departed a few days before," he said, Sunday (5/1).

Jakarta Dishub's Operational Unit Head Sigit Priebadi added there had been delays in transporting passengers at several main terminals on D-3 and D-2 of Eid due to contraflow traffic implementation on toll roads and long queues at Merak Port.

His side had asked the bus company (PO) to provide spare bus fleets to anticipate the buildup of passengers in terminals, as the impact of delays in departure.

"We have given incidental permits to tour buses to only serve certain routes as needed. If there is a density in one terminal, then a spare bus or tourism bus will be deployed to make sure the passengers arrive at their destinations on time," he explained.

He conveyed that a spare bus was only provided at the main terminal or A-type terminal due to the high concentration and mobility of passengers.

"The support terminal helps to break the concentration of passengers to prevent buildup of passengers in the main terminal," he stated.
