There will be no legal operation for newcomers or migrants
Jakarta Dukcapil Agency Head Budi Awalludin ensured that there would be no legal operation for newcomers who came to Jakarta.
"There will be no legal operation for newcomers or migrants, because Jakarta belongs to all, belongs to all Indonesian people. Anyone can work in Jakarta," he stated, Wednesday (5/4).
Jakarta to Provide Accurate and Fast Population Administration ServicesBased on population document service data, he added, the figure of newcomers in Jakarta decreased in the last two years, unlike in 2018 and 2019.
The decrease in the number of newcomers in 2020 and 2021 was due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on social restriction policies.
He assessed that the number of newcomers in Jakarta would be the same as in 2019, where it would increase during the Eid homecoming backflow.
"There will be an increase in May to 20,000 to 50,000 newcomers in Jakarta," he conveyed.
Thereby, the newcomers were urged to report to the local RT/RW administrators or Dukcapil service counters at sub-district or urban village offices upon their arrival in Jakarta. The agency already had an application called Data Warga for data collection of newcomers.
"We have prepared Data Warga application for data collection of newcomers. They can inform the local RT/RW about their arrival thus their data can be input to the Data Warga application or visit our service counters in urban villages or sub-district offices. Besides, we also carry out door-to-door service to RWs in urban villages," he mentioned.
The following are the numbers of newcomers in Jakarta in the last four years:
2021 = 138,740 people
2020 = 113,814 people
2019 = 169,778 people
