Channel dredging work that has been carried out since early May on Jalan Kapuk Raya RW 02, Kapuk Muara Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-district, North Jakarta is targeted to be completed by the end of this month or early June.

Penjaringan Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit Head Pendi explained the dredging was conducted on a channel with a length of 385 meters and a width of 1.5 meters with a mud thickness of about 80 centimeters.
"11 personnel have been deployed to dredge the channel manually," he said, Monday (5/23).

After it was done, the channel was expected to accelerate the receding of inundation in the nearby locations when there were long and high-intensity rains.
