Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan accompanied by Formula E Co-Founder Alberto Longo visited and monitored the readiness of the Jakarta E-Prix at the Jakarta International Eprix Circuit (JIEC) Ancol, on Friday (6/3).

"This is not an ordinary car race, but this is a car racing in the spirit of environmental sustainability. Therefore, the effect is not only economical but also ecological," he explained.
In 2015, he stated, the Jakarta administration targeted the greenhouse effect to decrease by 30 percent by 2030. In reality, the greenhouse effect in Jakarta has decreased by 26 percent by 2022.
"Alhamdulillah, now we have succeeded in reducing it to 26 percent. Hope it will be achieved in 2025 or five years ahead of the target," he continued.
He added the administration is also trying to achieve Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2055. In particular, through several sustainable mobility policies, one of which is the conversion of conventional public transportation to electric power. One of the efforts made is by electrifying the entire Transjakarta fleet by 2030.
"Formula E is an important moment in the history of our city's journey to become an eco-friendly city and a city that helps save the planet," he closed.
