The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency intensified fire socialization in 598 locations during May 2022, where the number was less than last April when reached 823 locations.

Gulkarmat Sub-agency Head Muchtar Zakaria said the decline in the number of socialization activities occurred in May last year considering ma ny firefighters took part in the inter-officer dexterity competition initiated by Jakarta Gulkarmat Agency at the Fire Training and Education Center.

"This competition is to improve the ability of firefighters on duty in the field," he said, Thursday (6/9).

Prevention Division Head Edi Parwoko added that from 598 locations, 56 were houses of worship, 536 were neighborhood roads, and 6 others were educational institutions.

"To smoothen the socialization, we send 50 cars, 362 motorbikes, and 664 firefighters," he explained.

According to him, it was carried out through loudspeakers at the prayer room or musala and sweeping to residential areas by motorbike or car.

Afterward, firefighters put stickers or pamphlets on fire prevention appeals in places that are easily seen by many people.

There were several locations affected by the fire socialization, including Jalan Shinta Raya, RT 16/04 Bambu Apus Urban Village; Jalan Pisangan Baru Utara, RW 07, Utan Kayu Selatan Urban Village; Jalan Panca Warga 1, RT 11/016, Cipinang Besar Selatan Urban Village; and Jalan Basuki Rahmat, RT 07/04, Cipinang Muara Urban Village.

Then SMA Islam Al-Azhar 19; Jalan Raya Centex, RT 07/10, Ciracas; Kav. Pule, Jalan Pule Kav.30, RT 17/09, Ciracas, and others.
