Pemerintah Australia Bagikan Pengalaman Penanganan Pandemi ke Transjakarta

Australia Shares Pandemic Handling Experience to Transjakarta

The Indonesia-Australia Partnership for Infrastructure (KIAT) has submitted a 15-month Pandemic Management Framework document to PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) at the CSW Bus Stop.

Even amid the pandemic, we can still provide safe and comfortable services

The document will serve as PT Transjakarta's guidelines in managing the pandemic for Transjakarta services in the future.

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head Syafrin Liputo appreciated the Australian Government for providing experience in handling the pandemic through the mass transportation service sector. Thus, Transjakarta services could serve better, especially in terms of safety and health for its customers.

Its document was important to assist PT Transjakarta in mitigating all disasters caused by the pandemic when serving the community.

"Of course, this should be an example to provide safe and comfortable services during the pandemic," he conveyed, Monday (6/20).

Therefore, he urged them to take implementation steps based on studies and needs thus the implementation could be accounted for.

"I hope there will be other programs in the future. Not only TOD development but also provision of Transjakarta electric buses that can be supported fully by KIAT partners," he expressed.

He assessed that Transjakata was very important for people's mobility, especially since the government had implemented social restrictions during the pandemic.

"Mobility is tightened during the pandemic, but still requires means of transportation. Transjakarta is the only means of transportation for those who do not have private vehicles," he stated.

Even though other mass transportation modes such as MRT and LRT already have similar documents, special treatment was still needed for Transjakarta customers, because its characteristics were different from MRT customers.

"We get comprehensive input from the KIAT document. We hope this will make Transjakarta's service better for its users," he hoped.

Minister Counselor of the Australian Embassy Tim Stapleton admitted that the Australian Government was very happy to support Transjakarta in providing services during the pandemic.

The intensive collaboration between KIAT and PT Transjakarta aimed to develop strategies or plans to curb the pandemic barriers and to improve the quality of public transportation services in Jakarta.

“I think the challenges of public transportation in Jakarta are extraordinary. I am very impressed with Transjakarta's efforts to support all of this through its services," he stated.
