The National Monument (Monas) Management Unit (UP) prepares hundreds of personnel to expel street vendors entering Monas during New Year's eve.

Street vendors are not allowed entering Monas area

Head of UP Monas, Rini Hariani, said about 250 personnel will guard in Monas during New Year's eve. "They will be spread in three shifts. Street vendors are not allowed entering Monas area ," she stressed, Monday (12/29).

Besides expelling the street vendors, the personnel will also apply visitor restriction on December 31 in the afternoon.

She estimated that the waste volume after the celebration will increase. "We hope people do not littering the area. It will ease our cleanliness personnel cleaning the area," she added.

Moreover, she also prohibited the entertainment stage in Monas for Jakarta Night Festival (JNF). The stage will be provided outside Monas near the Horse Statue on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.

Based on the information gathered, 13 stages will be provided on the New Year's eve. The locations are in front of Sarinah building with dangdut, in front of Jaya building with modern pop, in front of Sari Pan Pacific Hotel with percussion music, Bank Indonesia corner with archipelago music, in front of ESDM Ministry building with archipelago music, Bundaran HI with reggae, in front of Wisma Nusantara with archipelago music, in front of City Hall with modern pop, Silang Monas with city artists, in front of Defense Ministry building with keroncong, in front of Transjakarta shelter Merdeka Barat with Malay pop, in front of Gajah Museum with jazz, and in front of RRI office with puppet show.
