The repair of Danau Sunter C bridge on Jalan Danau Sunter Utara, Sunter Agung, Tanjung Priok is finally completed. However, the bridge operation will start in early January 2015. The repair process had been going on since September 2014.

It's too risky if heavy vehicles pass the bridge at this time

Previously in May 2014, the bridge was collapse due to broken frame. The repair spent Rp 1.8 billion.

Head of North Jakarta Public Works Department, Monang Ritonga, explained the delayed operation is applied to make sure the strength of bridge material.

" It's too risky if heavy vehicles pass the bridge at this time ," he said, Tuesday (12/30).

Besides improving Danau Sunter C bridge, Ritonga added, his side also maintains several roads. Heavy maintenance is applied for 60 roads and light maintenance is for 260 roads. Moreover, 49 roads are leveled up with concrete system.

Some of hot mix (concrete system) projects are located on Jalan Kamal Muara IV and Jalan Pengasinan Muara Angke in Penjaringan Sub-district, Jalan Pegangsaan Dua, Jalan Komplek Bermis, Jalan Haji Oyar in Kelapa Gading Sub-district, Jalan TPU Budi Darma, Jalana Metros in Cilincing and Jalan Al Hidayah Komplek UKA and Jalan Kramat Jaya in Koja.

"We received Rp 160 billion as annual budget, but not all projects could be finished. We'll propose it again next year," he disclosed.
