It will be completed in the forthcoming October 2022 and will operate in early 2023
According to Asep Kuswanto, Agency Head of Jakarta Environment (LH), the progress of RDF development has reached 28.78 percent. The facility is targeted to be operational in January 2023.
"It will be completed in the forthcoming October 2022 and will operate in early 2023," he expressed, Monday (6/27).
Commission D Encourages RDF to Overcome Waste ProblemHe explained that it would process waste from Jakarta with details of old waste of 1,000 tons per day and new waste of 1,000 tons per day, including producing value-added products that can be used by the cement industry as fuel to replace coal.
“RDF is a renewable energy material. The final product of the processing can be used as an alternative fuel and used in the power plant and cement industries," he explained.
In Bantar Gebang, he continued, it was built on a 74,914-square-meter land and would be completed with supporting facilities and infrastructure. They were management offices, laboratories, product warehouses, weighbridges, fire departments, truck washers, workshops, electrical substations, control rooms, and wastewater treatment plants.
"Hopefully, it is capable of reducing and processing the waste heaps that have been in Bantar Gebang for years," he hoped.
