The National Police Traffic Corps Head Inspector General Firman Santyabudi said, although there was an adjustment to administrative data, the police did not require people to immediately update their documents. Instead, they could apply to update the data when the period was about to expire.
"We will support all activities presented by the Governor and we will adjust the vehicle data. People who are affected by the change in road names are not required to change their STNK, but we will adjust the data related to the changes in road names. After five years, when the STNK period has expired, the non-tax state revenue (PNBP) data will be updated (gradually) as it is now," he explained.
On the other hand, Jakarta BPN Regional Office Head Dwi Budi Martono mentioned that the old land certificate was still valid and there was no additional fee if people wanted to update the road names.
"We are ready to support this reform. It has nothing to do with land rights. We have also conveyed it to all levels, both at the front office (counter), the back office, and our personnel in the field. All personnel will follow the Governor's Decree and this is all for the benefit of society," he asserted.
Jasa Raharja President Director Rivan Achmad Purwantono added that data adjustment would not interfere with the payment of compensation if there were road users who had an accident on the road whose name was changed.
"From updating data on e-KTP and vehicle data, the existing historical data will be not deleted in the context of paying compensation for those who have accidents," he continued.
Regarding the issuance of the updated population documents, the Jakarta Dukcapil Agency will proactively and gradually update the documents based on region. The updated population documents will be distributed by urban villages to residents through RT/RW. The provision of new/updated documents accompanied by withdrawal of old documents. People who urgently need new population documents can apply to the Jakarta Dukcapil Agency.
