We need to make continuous efforts, starting with the habit of reading in our daily lives to increase reading interest. Baca Jakarta is a 30-day reading challenge that aims to cultivate habits and improve people's reading and writing skills.

It could not only be followed by people in Jakarta but also by people living outside Jakarta.
"Until the second quarter, Baca Jakarta was attended by 143,824 participants, consisting of 142,028 participants from Jakarta and 1,769 participants from outside Jakarta," he explained.
As before, Baca Jakarta in the third quarter will still be done online. The accompanying participants could accompany the child participants in filling out the daily reading challenge booklet.
The collaboration between the child participants and the accompanying participants was expected to build a pleasant reading atmosphere and be a starting point for fostering an environment that likes reading.
“At the end of the Baca Jakarta challenge, the agency will hold a celebratory event called the Baca Jakarta Concert which is a form of appreciation for participants who can complete the reading challenge for 30 full days. In the third quarter, it will be held offline with the Jakarta Governor," he added.
He added participants who completed all the reading challenges would receive three e-certificates given, namely e-certificates of success given to child participants completing the reading challenge for 30 days, e-certificates of participation for child participants who have not been able to complete the challenge in full, and e-certificates of companion as a form of appreciation for students companion who accompanies child participants.
All e-certificates will be signed by the Governor and can be downloaded through each participant's account.
"Hundreds of selected participants who complete the challenge will also get additional appreciation in the form of interesting merchandise," he added.

To realize the event, the agency collaborated with the State printing company Percetakan Negara RI (PNRI), Jakarta Education Agency (Disdik), Jakarta Women's Empowerment, Family Planning and Child Protection Agency (PPAPP), Jakarta Communications, Informations, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik), PT MRT Jakarta, PT Transport Jakarta, PT Aksaramaya, The Asia Foundation, PKK Mobilization Team, RPTRA caretakers, Kiss Radio, Jak FM, TBM Forum, and other literacy communities in conducting socialization and promotion, thus making Baca Jakarta a joint literacy movement involving various elements of society.
