JNF, Visitors Ruined the Parks

The Jakarta Parks Sub-department officials met some difficulty due to the crowds of Jakarta Night Festival (JNF) visitors on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta. Many people accidentally stepped on the park and did not care about the officers appeal on the field.

We have difficulty to appeal them

Care Coordinator of the South Side Monas Park, Dept. of City Park and Cemetery, Nazar Amin, said 100 personnel were prepared to keep the park along the street. His side admitted to immediately reprimand the visitors who stepped on the park.

"We have difficulty to appeal them. We told them not to step on the park, because it will ruin the beauty of the city," he said, Wednesday (12/31).

According to them, there were other 200 personnel deployed at parks on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jalan MH Thamrin, and at Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue.

A number of JNF visitors did not know if stepping on the lawn is forbidden. Even so, there were still many of them ignored the appeal.

"We step on the lawn to take shortcut to the stage, but were appealed not to step on it," said Azis (32), one of visitors from Meruya, West Jakarta.
