Jakarta SOLID Digital Literacy Socialization with JakWIFI Held in West Jakarta"This is aimed at encouraging participants to increase their digital literacy skills in utilizing internet media to create positive, creative, and innovative content," he expressed, Thursday (7/14).
Seribu Islands Economic and Development Administration Assistant Iwan P Samosir expressed almost all people use the internet in their daily life. It was referring to a survey that has become a reference for many parties, namely the "Digital 2022 Indonesia" survey conducted by international advertising agencies and consultants, namely We Are Socia and Kepios, where information was obtained that the reasons Indonesian people use the internet are very diverse.
Starting from what they did the most, namely looking for information (80.1 percent), filling their spare time, playing video games, researching places and travel destinations, to the least expressing opinions, 39 percent.
"It can be concluded that the Indonesian people, including Jakarta residents, are used to being in contact with the internet. "Especially during the pandemic, people are encouraged to do activities from their homes, from working to studying online," he explained.
To support the need for internet access for all circles of society, Jakarta launched JakWiFi in 2020 which is an innovation program to support the connectivity and productivity of the people of Jakarta in the digital realm.
"In June 2022, it has touched 9,250 locations throughout the Jakarta area, with 29 locations in Seribu Islands," he explained.
The internet was installed in densely populated areas thus many families who previously had no access to the online world were able to connect. Not only in the village, but it also periodically spreads to various points in Jakarta.
"It also touches public locations such as city parks, child-friendly integrated public spaces (RPTRA), government buildings, and schools," he stated.
He added it shows that the administration is serious about providing digital infrastructure for its residents to carry out activities, innovate, and be creative digitally.
But the high internet access must be balanced with good knowledge by the community to optimize utilization and minimize the negative impacts that may occur.
The challenges in today's digital space are getting bigger, marked by the continuous emergence of negative content and increasing crime in that space. Hoax, online fraud, gambling, sexual exploitation of children, hate speech, and digital-based radicalism needs to be watched out for.
Digital connections are also expected to provide benefits and added value for Seribu Islands residents. Like Jakprenuer is expected to use it as a tool to produce something productive and can even help the welfare of the family.
"For PJLPs, they can take advantage of positively related to daily activities in Seribu Islands," he stated.
