City will Hold Urine Test for Staff

Vice Governor of Jakarta, Djarot Saiful Hidajat revealed, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) will explore the examination of 13 civil servants (PNS) which allegedly indicated using drugs. This needs to be done to determine whether the 13 civil servants are a user or just taking certain medications before the urine test.

If they are judged as the drug user and it disturbing their work, I think they will be fired

"We've talked with BNN and the examination will be explored. The indicated will be specifically invited, viewed from blood and hair, so the user will know as the long user, addiction, or just take the medicine," said Djarot, at City Hall, Monday (1/12).

Djarot added, the 13 civil servants can be directly removed from their position despite just inaugurated on 2nd January ago. "The officials are going to be removed from his post for sure. For dismissal of the Civil Servants is set in Baperjakat (the rank and position consideration agency). If they are judged as the drug user and it disturbing their work, I think they will be fired," he added.

Ahok to Demote PNS Who Consume Drugs

Former Mayor of Blitar continued, the examination or urine test will also be conducted to the staff levels. "Currently we still checked at the echelon II and III, because it is done gradually, later the staff will also be tested urine," he continued.

Jakarta employment Agency (BKD) Head, Agus Suradika added, from 13 civil servants who were indicated using drugs, eight of them are women. BNN is still deepening the examination of 13 civil servants. "There are some people who will be rechecked, and eight of them are women," said Suradika.

Suradika continued, Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared several sanctions, ranging from the light to heaviest sanctions. For those who tested positive, the sanctions ranging from a demotion to be dismissed. "If you are really in contact with drugs, the hardest part is dismissal ," he said.
