After Inauguration, New Officials Undergo the Urine Test

After inaugurated by Jakarta Governor, as many as 4,676 Civil Servants (PNS) officials immediately held the urine test by National Narcotics Agency (BNN), in Silang Monas, Central Jakarta. The test was held to ensure the officials free from drugs and psychotropic substances.

"We will do the drug tests, please all of you not go anywhere," said Basuki Tjahaja 'Ahok' Purnama, Friday (1/2).

Actually, Basuki has contacted BNN to conduct the drug tests for officials. He wants all officials to be free from drugs. It is because they will be a good role model for the staff and Jakarta residents.

"I beg all of you not to go anywhere. The BNN people will accompany you. Let's clean the City Government from drug users," he added.

Besides the dangers of drugs, Ahok also reminded the Civil Servants (PNS) not drink (alcohol) and smoking in the room. "There is no tolerance again. I see a lot of cigarette butts in the sub-district office. If you want to smoke, you can go out to the field," uttered Ahok.

Head of Jakarta BNN, Ali Johardi said, the official will be tested through urine test. Several rows of tables with medical equipment for urine test were available on the left side of the tent. Thousands of officers were immediately asked to fill out the provided form.

Officials were also encouraged to tell whether previously had consumed medicine or energy drinks, because it affects of the test result.

"They were given urine cup to do the test in toilet we prepared before. We give priority to male officials because they will do Jumat prayer," he added.
