Jakartan Health Workers to Get Moderna Jab as Second Booster

The Indonesian government has begun to start administering a fourth jab of the Covid-19 vaccine to health workers since Friday (7/29), as the country continues its battle against the Omicron coronavirus variant.

This action is still focused on health workers who are at the forefront as they are deemed the most vulnerable to the risk of transmission

Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) Head Widyastuti said there were 135,000 health workers in Jakarta. They can vaccinate at their respective workplace health facilities or the nearest vaccination service after getting the fourth vaccine ticket on the PeduliLindungi app.

"Hope this second booster can provide extra protection for them when serving patients," she expressed, Tuesday (8/2).

As for the information, the second booster is conducted at least at an interval of six months since the first booster is given. It is adjusted to the availability of vaccines in each region by prioritizing vaccines that have the closest expiration date (ED) and have received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the  Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).
