Be There! Jakarta Melayu Festival in Ancol

To welcome Indonesia's 77th Independence Day, PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol together with Gita Cinta Production will hold the Jakarta Melayu Festival (JMF) on August 17, 2022.

This is free of charge for all Ancol visitors at 7 PM

The Malay cultural performance, which is synonymous with music concerts is slated to be placed at the Beach City Entertainment Center, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol.

This annual event, which was supposed to be held every year, was postponed for the past two years due to limited space due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Various Activities Prepared to Celebrate 77th Independence Day

2022 JMF Producer as Commissioner of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Geisz Chalifah said the event was different than JMF in previous years.

The 10th JMF will be held alongside the pandemic. Despite it was like a concert in general, visitors would be encouraged to always adhere to health protocols.

There would be performers who would later be shown such as Olvah Alhamid as MC Erie Suzan, Mustafa Balasyik, Sulis Zehra, Shena Malsiana, Nong Niken, Kiki Ameera, Shreya Maya, Darmansyah, Takaeda, Alfin Habib, Seroja Band, and Anwar Fauzi Orkestra.

"Visitors can also enjoy traditional Malay food while enjoying the beauty of Ancol beach. This is free of charge for all Ancol visitors at 7 PM," he expressed, Tuesday (8/9).

He explained that the event carries the theme Teurimong Geunaseh, which was taken from the Acehnese language, Teurimong Geunaseh means thank you, addressed to those who are at the forefront when dealing with Covid-19 in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta.

"We also dedicate this to those who have contributed to the handling of Covid-19," he stressed.

Several representatives who will be awarded the Jakarta Malay Festival team include:

1. Indonesian Doctors Association (PB IDI) Jaya

2. Indonesian National Nurses Association

3. Indonesian Association of Epidemiologists

4. Emergency ambulance driver

5. Body Retrieval Officer

6. Funeral Officer

"Jakarta Governor will directly hand over them an award and at the same time deliver a Nationality speech at the peak event," he closed.
