Jakarta to Host 2015 New Cities Summit

Jakarta city will host the 2015 New Cities Summit that will be attended by 50 cities from various countries in the world. The plan, the fourth head meeting will be held on upcoming June, and Jakarta become the first host in Asia after the previous conferences held in Paris, Sao Paulo and Dallas.

He added, his side preferred Indonesia for the summit because it considered of many positive developments occurs and has the fastest development compared to other Asian countries.
"We feel that this is the right time for Indonesia and Jakarta, which is one of the most dynamic cities in the world, and has the fastest growth in Asia that deserve to be host," he added.
According to him, besides attended by regional heads, and entrepreneurs, the artists from 50 countries will also attend and discuss urban issues and find solutions in the fields of transport, housing, government, and trash.
"Later, all of visitor will learn from each other. We need to share information as one role of New Cities’ conference," he continued.
Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama welcomes this conference well. He admitted to use this meeting as a study from other leaders around the world and also to promote Jakarta as one of tourism destination.
"We do not have to study by visiting other countries because the architects, mayors, and governors around the world will share their experiences to resolve urban problems," he stated.
He added, the problems faced by all cities in the world are basically the same. Therefore, through this meeting, Jakarta should be able to make a development in manage the city by learn from others mistakes.
"We are hoping to make a great leap by using newest technology. Old system must be leaved. We can act more efficient, and quicker," he added.
