APTB Operational must Be Restricted, Ahok Says

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama revealed that the operational of Transjakarta Integrated Border Transportation (APBD) in the capital should be restricted. It aims to minimize traffic violations conducted by APBD bus which often stops or picks up passengers on the road.

You (bus drivers) must use the bus lane! We just want  you safe. Moreover, you're already using the rupiah per kilometer system

"You (bus drivers) must use the bus lane! We just want  you safe. Moreover, you're already using the rupiah per kilometer system," said Ahok, City Hall, Wednesday (1/14).

He uttered, such restriction was taken because of many APTB buses pick up passengers in forbidden areas and cause traffic congestion.

Transportation Dept. Gives an Option to APTB

"That's why we'll handle it with a better way. If you want to get money, just hold on payment of rupiah per kilometer. But if you are negligent, we will expel you," he asserted.

He also questioned the idea of APTB. This is because, the bus should not be exist. Thus, it caused corruption practice from officials of Transportation Department.

"I smell something unscrupulous game here, where PT Transjakarta should purchase its own buses. Then it leads to corruption action. But we do not know," he suspected.

As solution, his party is going to give an instruction to the APTB operators under PT Transjakarta. "Some already agreed. It does not matter, all buses may use the Transjakarta lane," he revealed.
