Here are Various Events for 77th Independence Day in Ancol

Ancol Taman Impian holds various events to celebrate Indonesia's 77th Independence Day celebrations for all visitors.

Ancol will provide various interesting and exciting activities to enliven the 77th Independence Day

PT Impian Jaya Ancol President Director Budi Ariyanto stated the 77th Independence Day in Ancol had the theme 'Recover Faster Rise Stronger'. Hopefully, Indonesia could recover faster in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The year 2022 is the year we start to bounce back from the pandemic. Ancol will provide various interesting and exciting activities to enliven the 77th Independence Day," he expressed, Wednesday (8/17).

Popular games are held in Ancol such as panjat pinang (climbing the slippery pole) competition with 45 areca palm trunks, 2x1,945 free tickets, Jakarta Melayu Festival, underwater flag raising ceremony, and dancing fountain special Independence Day.

"With this, we hope that Indonesia, especially Ancol, can recover quickly and stronger," he hoped.

The following are the details of the event at Ancol:

Sea World Ancol dan Ocean Dream

Ocean rides under the sea which has thousands of biota will present the raising of the flag and reading of the underwater proclamation text at the Main Aquarium at 10:30 AM and the flag lowering ceremony at 3 PM.

There are also independence quizzes, appreciation music, and activities for Ichinogami (paper puppets) Indonesian independence heroes such as Bung Hatta, Bung Karno, Bung Tomo, and others.

Ocean rides under the sea will pamper visitors with funny actions from Sea Lions who will play in theatrical performances with nuances of the struggle for Indonesian independence. It show can be seen at 10 AM.

Dunia Fantasi

Especially on August 17, Dunia Fantasi will hold an activity with the theme of independence, namely the Dinoland show at 12:30 PM.

A special performance of the Musical Drama with the theme of the General will be present to entertain visitors at 1:30 PM.

At 2:30 PM, visitors can watch the independence parade which is also interspersed with a sack race and eating ice cream on the Hysteria Stage.

Atlantis Water Adventures

At this moment, Atlantis will present a special show, namely Mermaid Adventures at Atlantis.

Tells the story of the legend of a mermaid who fights against pirates but then gets help from naval officers to defeat the pirates. The drama can be watched at 1:15 PM. Previously, Atlantis visitors could enjoy the Fun Dance at 12:45 PM.

Ancol Beach Park and Art Market

The 17's celebration in Jakarta is identical to the panjat pinang competition. This year, Ancol again held panjat pinang competition with 45 areca palm trunks ready for visitors at the Ancol Festival Beach.

Registration is open starting at 10 M while the competition will start at 2 PM.

Dancing Water Fountain

A new attraction is located at the Ancol East Roundabout, Symphony of the Sea area, playing with colorful lights and singing a special independence song on August 17.

In the Beach pool area, there is a Flying Board Show that will amaze visitors with exciting and must-see attractions at 3:30 PM and 5 PM.

The Akbar Kemerdekaan Parade (Great Independence) will also be present to entertain visitors in the Symphony of the Sea area starting at 4 PM. This parade will feature a variety of attractions ranging from marching bands, parade cars, and costumes of national heroes to the characters of recreational units including Dufan & Dufi.

Pasar Seni Ancol Party is a series of activities held at the Ancol Art Market from August 13 to 17. There are art exhibitions, workshops, painting bazaars, art and literacy discussions to live music that can be enjoyed from 8 AM to 8:30 AM.

Jakarta Melayu Festival (JMF)

After two years of not being held due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2022 Jakarta Malay Festival (JMF) is back. Located at the Beach City Entertainment Center - Ancol Taman Impian, for the tenth time JMF is held right on Indonesia's independence day on August 17, starting at 7 PM.

Carrying the theme Teurimong Geunaseh which means thank you in the Acehnese language, it is intended for Indonesian health workers who are at the forefront of the pandemic.

Erie Suzan, Mustafa Balasyik, Sulis, Alfin Habib, Nong Niken, and other Malay artists are ready to entertain Malay music lovers.
