City Launches Jakarta Public Relations Award

The Jakarta Communications, Informatics, and Statistics (Diskominfotik) Agency launched the Jakarta Public Relations Award (AHJ) and Public Relations Technical Guidance (Bimtek) 2022 in the Multipurpose Room, on the 22nd floor of Block G, City Hall Building, on Friday (8/26).

The theme, which carries the 'Collaborative Narrative to Build Jakarta', was held virtually and opened by City Secretary, Marullah Matali and was attended by Diskominfotik Head, Atika Nur Rahmania as well as Communications and Information Ministry Director General of information and public communication, Usman Kansong.
In his speech, City Secretary Marullah Matali said the delivery of public communication and information is not easy, as it requires planning, careful execution, team cohesiveness to the ability to evaluate a program. That was why he welcomed the awarding and technical guidance of public relations initiated by Diskominfotik.

He hoped that such an event could produce the best public relations works, including the Jakarta administration's all programs, policies, and activities could be delivered properly to the public.
Diskominfotik Head Atika Nur Rahmania explained that Jakarta Public Relations Award is an award for the performance of public relations services or communication and information services. It involved all local government organizations (OPD) and regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) to compete to improve the quality of public communication.
In this year's AHJ, five categories were contested, namely Social Media, Public Communication including communication strategy, Public Relations Innovation, Inspirational Public Relations figures, and Favorite Content category.
"For the evaluation, we invite a jury consisting of public relations experts, practitioners, and academics," she uttered.
Apart from a public relations competition, it was also a collaboration forum for managers of public relations activities under the Jakarta administration.
Support and appreciation also came from Communications and Information Ministry Director General of information and public communication, Usman Kansong. He assessed the AHJ and the Public Relations Bimtek could develop public relations competence in showing the best work to serve the community.
He also appreciated the Public Relations under the Jakarta administration which won the overall winner in the 2021 Public Relations Media Award held by the Public Relations Coordinating Board (Bakohumas), Ministry of Communication and Information.
"Hopefully, what has been achieved can be maintained, as well as can provide enthusiasm and can be imitated by other regions," he hoped.
He added that public relations were very outstanding, as the administration's public information is never empty to provide integrated information.
"I hope that this Bimtek can be useful to achieve the government's public communication goals," he hoped.
