Two delegations from Sydney and the World Bank visited the Kampung Susun Akuarium (elevated village) in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Friday (9/2).

Those two delegations namely Deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney, Jess Scully and World Bank representative, Andre got an explanation from residents about the establishment of the Kampung Susun Akuarium. They also had the opportunity to tour the residences of Block B residents.
World Bank representative, Andre said that the visit to Kampung Susun Akuarium was very interesting and could be implemented in several other locations in Jakarta.

He explained that the construction of the Kampung Susun Akuarium took a very long time. How residents discuss what will be done and obtained is not merely to accommodate housing needs.
"But, economic and other activities related to this area can grow with the Kampung Susun Akuarium," he stated.
He added that several delegates from various countries who visited the Kampung Susun Akuarium could study the area as a process of building social civilization.
"Now, they have the opportunity to live in a safe and comfortable place and integrate with the Kampung Akuarium area," he closed.
