1,200 Elementary Students in Semanan Enjoy Eye Health Checkups

Children who need glasses can get them for free after having their eyes checked

As many as 1,200 students from four elementary schools (SD) in Semanan area, Kembangan, West Jakarta, received eye health check-up services in a social service activity held by the Lions Club Jakarta Distrik 307 A1, Monday (9/19).

The service that targeted students from SDN Semanan 12 Pagi, SDN Semanan 13 Petang, SDN Semaan  8 Pagi, and SDN Semanan 14 Petang was attended by Kalideres Sub-district Head, Naman Setiawan; Semanan Urban Village Head, Bayu Fadayen Gantha; and Distrik 307 A1 Lions Club Jakarta Chairman, Ronalo Christiandi.

Kalideres Sub-district Head, Naman Setiawan appreciated the social activity, as it was very helpful for children who have problems with their eyesight.

"Children who need glasses can get them for free after having their eyes checked," he said.

He hoped that the service could provide enthusiasm for learning for the participants.

Another appreciation also came from SDN Semanan 12 Pagi Vice Principal, Emi Fatih Telang Benua. He admitted that students also received education on how to keep their eyes healthy.

"My students are about 300 children. They had their eye health checked. Hopefully, similar activities can be an annual agenda thus more children will be helped," he stated.

Distrik 301 A1 Lions Club Jakarta Chairperson, Ronaldo Christiandi explained that four elementary schools visited were in one area of the building thus it was easier to check.

"We send six ophthalmologists in this social activity," he closed.
