E. Jakarta Prepares 250 Janitors to Standby in Flood-Prone Areas

The East Jakarta Administration provides 250 janitors to standby in 13 flood-prone areas in a bid to anticipate trash pile that left by flood.

Post-flood, it would lead to trash pile in drains and residential streets, therefore we muster 250 janitors

"Post-flood, it would lead to trash pile in drains and residential streets, therefore we muster 250 janitors," said Head of East Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department, Marnaek Siahaan, Saturday (1/24).

Siahaan disclosed, 250 janitors consist of street sweepers, trash haulers, drivers, mechanics, staffs, supervisors, etc. "It has become our routine agenda post-flood, where there would be a communal work with residents," he said.

He furthered, as many as 200 dump trucks are also prepared. "It aims to optimize our performance in the field," he expressed.

He urges locals to contribute in assisting officers to handle trash problem, especially in flood-prone areas and not throw trash carelessly.
