Flood Anticipation, 5,401 Joint Personnel Prepared

As many as 5,401 joint personnel were prepared by West Jakarta Administration to assist people in dealing with flood during the peak of the rainy season.

We work closely with other agencies and the public to prepare personnel when the flood came

The personnel consists of 500 personnel of Sub-dept. of Fire and Disaster Management (Damkar and PB), 200 TNI personnel, 250 police personnel, 1,000 west Jakarta Satpol PP, 400 personnel of Linmas (civilian neighborhood guards), 60 personnel of Social Sub-Department, and 300 personnel from Health Sub-department.

Then, from community organizations such as the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) as many as 155 personnel, Tagana 30 personnel, social organization 750 personnel, karang taruna 840 personnel, 30 Scouts personnel, Satgassos 840 personnel, as well as from Orari and youth by 65 personnel.

Executive Head of Disaster Management for West Jakarta, Firmanudin said, his side has coordinated with relevant parties about the personnel who will be deployed when the flood came.

"We work closely with other agencies and the public to prepare personnel when the flood came," he said, Tuesday (1/20).

In addition, his side also has set up a camp for flood victim in each urban village in West Jakarta. According to him, the flood prone areas are in 31 urban villages spread across West Jakarta.

In Grogol petamburan Sub-District there are 6 urban villages that prone to flooding such as Jelambar and Wijaya Kusuma. In the Tamansari Sub-District there are 3 urban villages that prone to flooding such as Mangga Besar, Keagungan, and Pinangsia. While in Kebun Jeruk Sub-district, there are 6 urban villages such as in North and South Kedoya, Duri Kepa, and Kelapa Dua. Meanwhile, in the Palmerah Sub-District only one urban village that is Jatipulo.
