50 Rubber Boats Provided to Face Flooding in E. Jakarta

We provide 50 rubber boats to evacuate flood victims

East Jakarta Administration provides 50 rubber boats to evacuate flood victims, particularly those who live in a densely populated area. This is because, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) predicts that the flooding will hit Jakarta and its surrounding area in January-February.

"We provide 50 rubber boats to evacuate flood victims," expressed East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardhana, Tuesday (1/13).

Flood Anticipation, Residents Start to Evacuate Their Goods

Musyawardhana disclosed, those boats have various sizes ranging from small, medium, until big, including donation from the City Police and  the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB).

"Temporary data, there are 50 boats. It does not yet include boats from regional working unit (SKPD)," he told.

He disclosed, 5 flood posts are also set up in Borobudur University, Otista Sport Hall (GOR), East Jakarta Health Sub-Department Office, STIKES Binawan and Akper Pertiwi.

"We also already prepare logistic in each post, such as food, drink, and medicine," he exclaimed.

He appealed local citizens living on the riverbank to be more alert and spry on the early warning system designed by Jakarta Provincial Government.

"If the alarm goes off, people must be alert and immediately do evacuation, as well as obey the rules from officers in the field," he finished.
