Thursday, e-Money Parking Meters Launched

We would launch the parking meter system on Thursday (1/29) at 8 AM on Jalan KH Agus Salim (Jalan Sabang)

After being delayed less than 4 months, the parking meters payment using a debit card (e-money) is ready to be launched on Thursday (1/29). By this way, people will no longer have to bother looking for coins for payment.

According to Sunardi, Head of Parking Technical Management Unit (UPT), Jakarta Transportation Department, his party has signed a cooperation agreement between Parking UPT with 6 banks.

Parking Meter Revenue Hits Rp 300 M Per Month

"We would launch the parking meters system on Thursday (1/29) at 8 AM on Jalan KH Agus Salim (Jalan Sabang)," he expressed, Wednesday (1/28).

He assessed, it is very helpful for parking attendant. All this time, they are quite exhausted considering must serve the exchange of coins while monitoring vehicles at the exit-enter gate.

"We can also manage parking attendant number. There are 30 people on Jalan Sabang. Yet it can be reduced to 6 people if the system has been used," he explained.

Then for remaining parking attendant, he furthered, will be moved to Jalan Boulevard Raya, Kelapa Gading, where these roads planned to be equipped with electronic parking.

As known, the parking meters payment is compliance with Jakarta Governor's instruction to minimize cash transaction. Later on, there will be 6 banks participate, namely DKI, Mandiri, BCA, BNI, Mega, and BRI.
