Jakarta-owned tap water company PAM Jaya has inaugurated seven water kiosks in Muara Angke, North Jakarta as a quick solution while providing quality water.

Those water kiosks were built on land owned by residents who are willing to be appointed as managers and there is access to piping at that location.

Perumda PAM Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin said each water kiosk can serve about 200 families (KK) in Muara Angke which is distributed using a tank car with a maximum of three deliveries per day.

"In total, seven kiosks are capable of supplying 84,000 liters per day of water. We also distributed 2,093 food packages for residents of RW 22 Muara Angke during the inauguration," he expressed, Wednesday (11/9).

According to him, the company also provided free the first 4,000 liters of water and 100 jerry cans for residents who were entrusted to the water kiosk managers in Muara Angke.

"Water is produced at the PAM Jaya Water Management Installation which has quality at affordable prices and is guaranteed health," he explained.

He explained that it was Muara Angke residents who bought water at the PAM Jaya water kiosk for Rp 400 per jerry can or the equivalent of 20 liters. Meanwhile, if delivered, residents pay Rp 1,200 per jerry can.

" Alhamdulillah , we have built 172 water kiosks spread across North and West Jakarta targeting Low-Income Communities (MBR)," he added.

He uttered that the provision of water kiosks as a temporary solution will be replaced by a piping system which is targeted to be completed in 2030.

"Access to piped water is our commitment to supporting the development of Jakarta as a global city," he stated.
