The National Broadcasting Commission (KPID) together with the Jakarta Communications, Informations, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotk) hold the Jakarta Broadcasting Expo 2022 event at Blok G Building, Jakarta City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, Central Jakarta, from Wednesday (11/9) until Thursday (11/10).

We also provide education and literacy to the public

City Secretary Assistant, Sigit Wijatmoko expressed the Jakarta administration would support the Jakarta Broadcasting Expo 2022 and the establishment of a broadcasting society in Jakarta.

"Moreover, it can also be used as a means of information, education, and literacy in the face of digitalization to achieve the goals set," he expressed, Wednesday (11/9).

According to him, the concept of activities held at today's event was quite interesting.

"It could be that the ranks of the Jakarta administration need to know, study, and form an intelligent society in the broadcasting field," he expressed.

He explained that November 2, 2022, became a historic moment, especially for the broadcasting world in Indonesia, which was marked by the cessation of analog broadcasts switching to digitalization, which was successfully implemented following the mandate of Law No. 11/2020.

"We need to support it, as broadcasting digitization is an effort to save frequencies used for national interests such as disasters and other telecommunications," he explained.

Hence, he prompted all elements to smoothen the broadcasting digitization program, thus the frequency is more efficient and has wider benefits for the community.

He asserted the existence of broadcasting institutions plays a very important role in shaping and creating intelligent people's behavior.

"Jakartans are also urged to care about the quality of broadcasts that are watched or heard on television and radio through promotions, education, literacy, and debriefing held in this event," he uttered.

On the other hand, Jakarta KPID Chairperson, Kawiyan expressed his gratitude to all parties who have supported the Jakarta Broadcasting Expo 2022.

"The activity itself is filled with exhibitions which are participated by participating television and radio institutions in order to introduce the public to broadcasting institutions, as well as a declaration of public care about broadcasting," he stated.

He added his party is in charge of supervising broadcast content.

"We also provide education and literacy to the public, thus they are good at choosing television and radio broadcasts," he closed.
