Illegal Parking, 2,133 Vehicles in North Jakarta Netted

The North Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency has recorded that as many as 2,133 vehicles have been netted due to illegal parking from January to November 2022.

Illegal parking is very annoying and causes traffic jams

Illegal parking is important to be controlled considering it often causes traffic jams.

North Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Simanjuntak expressed personnel are routinely monitoring and controlling illegal parking every day. It is done using 13 towing trucks in areas prone to illegal parking.

"Illegal parking is very annoying and causes traffic jams," he expressed, Thursday (12/15).

He explained each towing truck unit has three personnel plus one officer from the side unit. They will conduct patrols in places that are busy and dense with vehicles.

Of 2,133 vehicles towed, the most operation was in March with 226 vehicles.

As for the vehicles towed due to illegal parking throughout 2021 totaled 2,260 units.

"This is done according to the applicable rules. Each violator is subject to a levy of Rp 500,000," he asserted.
