Kramatjati Market will Be Transformed Into Tourist Market

Approaching the 2018 Asian Games, Jakarta Vice Governor Djarot Saiful Hidajat revealed that he wanted to transform the Kramatjati Fruits and Vegetables Markets, East Jakarta, into a tourist market. Hence, the PD Pasar Jaya was instructed to re-arrange the largest wholesale center of fruits and vegetables in Southeast Asia. 

At least, the market could already be arranged prior to the Asian Games. And then its inauguration will officially be done in 2016

"At least, the market could already be arranged prior to the Asian Games. And then its inauguration will officially be done in 2016," stated Djarot on the sidelines of impromptu visit or blusukan to Kramatjati Market, Wednesday (2/4).

Former Blitar of Mayor continued that one of the requirements to realize his plan is the environment should be clean and free from trash. Its service must also be upgraded thus visitors feel comfortable while shopping.

Approaching Asian Games, Velodrome Sport Hall Renovated

According to him, it must be done thoroughly, that is by installing street lights as well as loading and unloading activity but it does not cause congestion.

"As you know, every Asian Games contingents need fresh vegetables and fruits. That's why the market should be able to present a good impression thus they can also tour in this central market," he stressed.

On the other hand, Kramatjati Market Manager, Muhammad Salam explained his party plans to re-arrange the entire market, ranging from a computerized network, parking lots, parks, street vendors, etc.
