Satpol PP Deploys 1,406 Personnel Ahead of Christmas and New Year

As many as 1,406 personnel of Jakarta Satpol PP are ready to secure the implementation of Christmas and New Year celebrations in Jakarta.

They were assigned to ensure that all worship activities, Christmas celebrations

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin said the 1,406 personnel were alerted to secure Christmas' Eve in 429 churches spread across five areas of the city.

Of 1,406 personnel, 300 are deployed to 48 churches in West Jakarta, 262 are to 134 churches in North Jakarta, 264 are to 50 churches in Central Jakarta, 390 are to 152 churches in East Jakarta, and 180 are to 45 churches in South Jakarta.

"They were assigned to ensure that all worship activities, Christmas celebrations, run orderly, safely, smoothly and under health protocols," he expressed, Tuesday (12/20).

Other personnel would also be prepared for Christmas Carol in Kendal Tunnel, Plaza Indonesia, and Kota Tua, which falls on December 19-23, 2022.

Even, as many as 490 personnel would also be prepared for various activities during New Year's Eve, namely Malam Muda Mudi (musical performance), Semarak Jakarta, and Car Free Night.

"We send them to block motorcycles which start at 8 PM and manage traders during the event," he uttered.

He added that some personnel would also be on standby in crowded places during New Year, starting from Kota Tua area, Danau Sunter, CNI Kembangan, China Town PIK 2, BKT (East Jakarta), Bulungan (South Jakarta), and Akbar Mosque (Central Jakarta).

"We continue to call on residents to always wear a mask while in the indoor room following the Home Minister's Instruction No. 50/2022 that the capacity is 100 percent for the implementation of worship," he closed.
