City to Emulate Thai's Tourism Management

The progress of the tourism sector in Bangkok, Thailand, making the country's white elephant became one of the destinations of Indonesian people and other countries. Jakarta, which has many top tourist destinations do not want to be a spectator only, but will take knowledge of Thai's tourism management.

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidajat revealed that the Thai government's concept has successfully attracted a lot of foreign tourists. Hence, the city administration needs to learn a lot in a bid to increase the number of foreign tourists, thus he wanted to emulate the tourist management in Thailand. 

"Right now, Thailand has become a tourist destination. Do you know how many Indonesian people who visit to Thailand? Just calculate it. Besides us, they also have to visit here (Jakarta) then," said Djarot after he welcomed the visit of former Minister of Thailand, Chuan Leekpai at City Hall, Thursday (2/5).

Not only tourism sector, he furthered, he also intends to emulate other sectors. One of them is the marketing of agricultural products. Moreover, the quality of agricultural products in Indonesia does not inferior to Bangkok. Yet the Thai's agricultural products could be advantageous due to a good marketing technique.

"That's why, we present our local product in the meeting. Thus they know that our rambutan and banana are better than them," he disclosed.
