600 Joint Personnel Ready to Secure New Year's Eve at TMII

As many as 600 joint personnel have been alerted to secure the new year celebration party at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta.

200 others are alerted on the outside

East Jakarta Metro Resort Police Chief, Com. Pol. Budi Sartono said that the 600 joint personnel deployed consisted of national army (TNI), Satpol PP, Transportation Sub-agency, Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat), Health Sub-agency, urban village, sub-district, FKDM, Pokdar Kamtibmas, and several community organization.

During the New Year celebrations at TMII, 400 were deployed to three crowded centers which included Gajah Mada plaza, KTT Non-Blok Museum, and Arcipelago Lake.

"200 others are alerted on the outside. Particularly related to securing vehicles and anticipating traffic jams," he expressed, Saturday (12/31).

Until 3 PM, the traffic situation around the TMII area was still smooth, so traffic engineering had not been implemented.

"If the conditions are crowded, traffic engineering will be applied," he stressed.

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar explained that the New Year's celebration at the location would be attended by Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono; Pangdam Jaya Maj. Gen. Untung Budiharto; Polda Metro Jaya Chief, Insp. Gen. Muhammad Fadil Imran; and several related officials.

He explained that the current condition of TMII was much better after it was revitalized. The existence of joint officers in the tourist area was expected to provide public security and comfort for visitors.

"We urge residents not to set off firecrackers on New Year's Eve because they are afraid it could trigger a fire," he exclaimed.

East Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Budhy Novian added that as many as 80 personnel had been deployed to optimize public security on New Year's Eve in TMII area. 30 of whom joined elements related to maintaining security in the inner area.

"50 others stand guard outside TMII," he closed.
