BPBD Monitors Four Areas Prone to Tidal FloodingAccording to her, the channel, which is 80 centimeters wide and 80 centimeters high was drained, as the mud thick had reached 20 centimeters. It was worried that this condition would cause overflowing waters to nearby settlements during heavy rains
"Draining is carried out to minimize inundation in the neighborhood," he stated.
Tanah Abang Sub-district SDA Task Force is seen cleaning the channel using cantrang (trawling nets), hoes, sacks, crowbars, and buckets.
Their action received a positive response from residents. One of them, Tirta Swir (52), was a resident of RT 02/09 Kampung Bali.
He admitted that he was not worried about being affected by inundation during heavy rains, as the SDA task force was draining the channel in front of his house.
"My house is close to the channel. Previously, I was afraid the water would spill over onto the streets when it rained. Alhamdulillah (Thank God), now I'm starting to not worry because the channel is being drained," he admitted.
